Utrecht-based multidisciplinary designer Niek van der Veer and visual artist/sonic designer Roel Weerdenburg join forces to create an immersive deep listening experience. A440 (concert pitch) is a site-specific multi-channel sound and light installation, exploring the dynamics of sound waves. An aim to appreciate various fundamental characteristics within electronic music. The composition features sine wave drones, transients, oscillations and noise, partly recorded with old scientific test equipment at Worm’s Waveform Research Center and combined with samples and modern technology.
